Everything but the substrate in this tank is from BucePlant. The tank, rocks, twinstar light, and plants came nicely packaged. The only thing I was a little disappointed about was the tissue culture arrival condition on some of the cups but that may have been caused by shipping company. Overall everything was perfect! Great customer service as well.

So far so good with this fixture. Too early to tell if my plants will benefit from this upgrade as it’s installed in a new UNS 90U using the dry start method. I rated 4 stars because there are less expensive units that include built-in timers. For over $300, you’d expect this unit to have that basic feature, but it doesn’t. Another thing that bothers me about this unit is the lens. It has an opaque lens that actually interferes with the LED intensity. As an electrician who deals with many many LED fixtures, I can’t see why they would choose a white opaque lens instead of a clear lens. This lens also gives the lighting and substrate this flat and unnatural appearance. A clear lens would not only make the fixture brighter, but would also provide that glimmering effect in the tank which looks so beautiful and natural. Maybe after the warranty is expired, I might decide to get a clear custom lens made for this fixture. As far as the timer/dimmer, after some research I decided to purchase the S2 PRO LED Dimmer on Ali Baba for $11!!! Yes, $11!! This is a MUST HAVE if you’re considering this unit. You can control light intensity at 8 stages during the day. And, the increases in intensity are done gradually as to not spook your fish. Best $11 I have ever spent. Might purchase a couple more just to have around. All in all, Buce Plants shipped this fixture with the aquarium immediately and I received the items in 3 days!!! And I’m all the way in the East Coast! Will be doing business with them again.

I’m incredibly impressed with the high output of light this produces. My plants have seen incredible growth and begin pearling way faster than any light I’ve owned before. My only regret was not getting this earlier. Must have for anyone in the hobby.

I have this light on a 30 gal. long. Not water plants but minature orchids. I currently have 5 blooming. This light is the perfect full spectrum light! I can just imagine how good it would be for a planted tank!

In all honesty this light fixture fit perfect for my aquarium and the sleek design looks beautiful and it definitely helps with the overall look of my tank. I’m currently using it on an17 gallon aquarium and I have it as a fresh water planted tank, but I’m switching over to do a salt water macro algae here soon over the next couple of months!

Honestly, I know this hobby is supposed to be satisfying and soothing (it is… to an extent). When my plants weren’t doing so well in my newly planted rescape… I knew the only thing missing had to be a good light. Amazon quality NiCrew and other <$100.00 lights wouldn't be enough for these SP Reds and short, stubby MC. Simply throwing a couple more benjamins at the tank did the job. Don't skimp on lighting. Twinstar makes some of the best lights. I even dropped one side in my tank because this didn't fit the 90L and it is doing just fine 2 months after.

This light is very bright with a nice spectrum of light. The 450S fits my 10 gallon (17 3/4″ long, 10.5 wide, 12″ tall) perfectly.

For the light itself, it’s really bright and good and I would recommend it to friends. The only downside I see is on the foot design where the foot only have barrier on one side and would not prevent slipping if you lift the other end of the fixture. I see this would cause a lot of slipping problems, It already slipped on my aquarium twice while adjusting one side so be careful with that. If you can afford the hanging version, go with that to avoid the problem.

If you’re looking for more reds in your tank it is just a switch away with the brightness and colors of this fixture. My last fixture was decent quality and would grow a lush carpet but it never brought out colors like this.

These lamps are extremely powerful for their size, easy to install (especially if you are using a UNS tank), look great, and the light they produce is beautiful: makes colors pop of both the plants and animals, without looking unnatural.Does not come with a fancy app, but you can easily tune them up/down with a simple in-line controller, which lets you do sunrise/sunset effects.If you are looking for a no-hassle solution, this is a great one!

I purchased a couple of aquarium light fixtures, and the twin star LED series are by far the highest quality aquarium lighting hardware that I have come across. It has a sleek, minimalist modern style and a platinum color finish. I would highly recommend picking up the dimmer with lighting fixture. This is hard to come by but it’s worth the investment. This is not your typical cheap equipment. There are much more affordable options I just like the look and engineering behind this product.

OK, so this is my first Twinstar light review. I have previously owned a lot of LED lights from Finnex and Fluval, and let me say…. this is an intense step up from all of them. It makes the red plants pop. My plants are pearling like crazy and growing at an incredibly high rate. The light works well on a timer and is built amazingly. Here are some things that I feel you should be aware of when buying this. 1.) It is bright – It is the most brilliant aquarium light I have ever owned – and it sits up higher than ones that are flush with the tank – this means that if you have a chair next to you, you will have a bright light in your face. I wish these lights came with ” side shades” that attach to the front and sides of the fixture to keep the light from diffusing out everywhere. 2.) Unlike in the UK, you do not get the dimmer and timer that comes with it for FREE – I find this annoying. However, I do not use it as it is connected to a smart timer. 3.) Mine did not come with the fancy legs pictured in the image – they went with the adjustable ones, which I don’t think look as good. This frustrated me because the idea didn’t have these. My opinion is this – if you are going for a high-end and high-tech setup, then this light is a no-brainer – it is amazing, it looks good, and it works incredibly well – It will make your fish look stunning! If you are not doing CO2 injection and have high-light plants, I would go for a lower-setting light such as the E series, as this light appears to be equivalent to the sun.

This light is bright! Much more than the E series. I was having trouble with a few plants with the E placed on a UNS 45T. Hopefully the S will fix that.The S light makes my red plants more red somehow. Won’t complain. Lots of pearling already.

This light fixture was recommended by MJ Aquascaping as top tier for aquariums. With his knowledge and experience with different lighting, out of all the options, I chose what I thought would be a great purchase, which indeed it is. Being new to aquascaping, I wanted to just front the cost of a really good light fixture instead of having to purchase other products that would eventually need to be replaced, as well as not providing all of the amenities that this product has. It provides optimum lighting for my tank and I am very pleased with the aesthetic design. Shipping was fast and arrived sooner than I thought and the item was packaged well. My first purchase from you guys far exceeded my expections. Bravo BUCEPLANT.
